Cyber Security Mandates

Bank must formulate a Cyber Security Policy covering data protection, including encryption for sensitive info in transit/rest, access controls, and data loss prevention. Graded approach: All UCBs start with Level 1 (e.g., bank-specific domains, 2FA); higher levels add SOC, VAPT, and vendor risk management.

Introduction and Commitment

Madanapalle Co-operative Town Bank Ltd. (the "Bank") is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information and sensitive personal data provided by its customers. This policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect the customer data in line with RBI's Cyber Security Framework for Urban Cooperative Banks, KYC Master Directions, IT Act 2000, and DPDP Act.

Definitions

• Personal Information (PI): Any data identifying customer, such as name, address, PAN, Aadhaar (optional), phone, email, financial details, and KYC documents.
• Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI):Passwords, financial, biometrics, or health information (excluding publicly available data).
• Account details, transaction history, Collected only for AP-specific services like local loans, deposits, and RCS reporting. Data stored in India.

3. Scope Purpose and Use of Policy

This applies to all customer interactions via branches, website, mobile banking, ATM, or other services. It does not cover third-party websites linked from our platforms.

Used for account management, credit assessment, fraud prevention, and compliance with RBI/AP Co-op Dept.

4. Collection of Information

We collect PI/SPDI only when necessary for:

• Account opening, KYC verification, and onboarding.
• Processing transactions, loans, deposits, and services.
• Data is minimized, collected with consent where required, and stored within India.

5. Sharing and Disclosure

Limited to:

• RBI, CICs (e.g., CIBIL, Experian, Equifax and Highmark), or AP authorities for regulatory needs.
• To affiliates or service providers/vendors under strict NDA agreements.
• Never sold: The Madanapalli Coop. Town Bank does not sell or rent the customer data. Disclosure occurs only in the above mentioned cases.
• Public domain or consented data is exempt.

6. Use of Information

Your data is used solely for:

• Delivering banking services and risk management.
• Fraud detection, compliance, and internal operations.
• No cross-selling or marketing without customer explicit opt-in consent.

7. Data Security

We implement RBI-mandated measures per Cyber Security Framework (Level 1 compliance):

• Encryption for data in transit/rest.
• Access controls, firewalls, multi-factor authentication (2FA).
• Regular vulnerability assessments, audits, and incident reporting to RBI within 6 hours.
• While we strive for utmost security, no system is 100% breach-proof.

8. Data Retention and Disposal

Data is retained only as long as needed for business/legal purposes (e.g., 10 years post-account closure per RBI). Secure deletion follows upon expiry.​

9. Customer Rights and Grievance Redressal

Customers have the right to:

• Access, correct, or erase your data (subject to legal holds).
• Withdraw consent for non-essential processing.
• Lodge complaints at mctbank@gmail.com / mctbank@mctbank.bank.in or any branch. We respond within 30 days.

10. Updates to Policy

This policy may be updated; changes posted on our website/branch notices. Continued use implies acceptance.
